When you look at those we would consider to be successful, what is one thing you noticed? Aside from the dedication, perseverance, hard work, etc. what was one of, if not the biggest, reasons for many of them to become rich?
Besides those who were born into it, many wealthy people came from the bottom. They know what struggle feels like. The common denominator in many of these millionaires’ stories, as to the reason they wanted to make acquire riches, was they wanted to do it for a cause greater than themselves. One of these causes includes providing for their family. With that kind of driving force, you are ready to take on the world.
So, what is your driving force? It is my belief that as long as your goals are foundated on something for the greater good of someone/something other than yourself, then it will happen. Those people willing to go the extra mile and sacrifice everything for someone/something else will certainly get what they deserve in due time. Why? Because with that much passion and that strong of a desire, they will accomplish that goal or die trying; IF it is for something bigger than themselves.
Many of us have dreams and aspirations of becoming successful in one way or another. Some of us want to be athletes, musicians, actors, doctors, lawyers, business owners, etc. However, it is not enough to simply dream and aspire to be something. That’s only one part of the equation. The rule of thumb in most success stories is what it took for them to get there. Nothing ever comes of just talking about your dreams and aspirations, you have to have absolute faith that it is going to happen. Any amount of doubt you have of fulfilling that dream leaves that much more chance of you quitting. So…what then do we do? How can we be so sure of something happening that we have no control over? Well, it sure doesn’t come from just talking about it. When venturing into unknown territory, we typically use a map or a GPS device. We don’t just up and decide to head out with no direction of where to go or how to get there. It’s the same with life. The map is like our goals, our passion or talent is the vehicle, our mind is the engine, and our ambition is the gas. Hard work and perseverance seems to be the common denominators in success stories in occupations all across the board. Not birthday candles, shooting stars, or waiting until 11:11 PM for countless nights making wishes until that day finally came where opportunity fell right in their lap. It’s never too late to chase your dreams. Believe in yourself, first. All the people in the world can tell you they believe in you but if YOU don’t…then you will never make it anywhere.
