When you look at those we would consider to be successful, what is one thing you noticed? Aside from the dedication, perseverance, hard work, etc. what was one of, if not the biggest, reasons for many of them to become rich?
Besides those who were born into it, many wealthy people came from the bottom. They know what struggle feels like. The common denominator in many of these millionaires’ stories, as to the reason they wanted to make acquire riches, was they wanted to do it for a cause greater than themselves. One of these causes includes providing for their family. With that kind of driving force, you are ready to take on the world.
So, what is your driving force? It is my belief that as long as your goals are foundated on something for the greater good of someone/something other than yourself, then it will happen. Those people willing to go the extra mile and sacrifice everything for someone/something else will certainly get what they deserve in due time. Why? Because with that much passion and that strong of a desire, they will accomplish that goal or die trying; IF it is for something bigger than themselves.
Just as gold must be put through fire in order to be purified; so, too, must we endure the raging flames and unrelenting heat of fire to purify ourselves. On the path to success, it is inevitable that we will have to be scorched by the flames of trial and error so that we may build up not only our knowledge, but our confidence and character, as well. We must come to the realization that we are the blacksmiths of our future. We possess the power to forge and shape our lives in any way we wish to. But, the forging of our future is much like the forging of a sword. You have to repeatedly put yourself through the fire and withstand the beatings and poundings you will take along the way; but, it will only strengthen us and put us that much closer to reaching the ultimate goal. Keep going.
Things happen in life. Things that are totally out of our control. At times, we allow these things to stagnate us and hinder us from moving forward. Or, we allow distractions to get the best of us, causing us to get sidetracked for a period of time. We even allow our own doubts, fears, and insecurities to come between us and whatever it is we’re hoping to get accomplished. The key to overcoming each of these obstacles is to stay focused. Develop a sort of tunnel vision and only acknowledge what you CHOOSE to. You might be asking, “how the hell do you CHOOSE to acknowledge something?” By choosing what we acknowledge, we are keeping full control of our lives and not being stagnated by external forces. Nothing can hinder our growth if we don’t allow it to. Always be consciously aware of what’s going on around you so that you can handle it accordingly rather than letting it control you. We may stop and smell the roses and venture off our paths from time to time, but never lose sight of the bigger picture.
No matter how far you go in life…never forget where you came from.
NEVER! In any aspect of life. Don’t ever sell yourself short. Always strive to be the best that you can possibly be. Because all of you are capable of doing great things. Yes, YOU. We all have our special gifts, talents, passions, and skills. Some of us aren’t aware of any yet, but in due time you will. In high school, I was the type of student that would only do the bare minimum to get by. I absolutely hated school. Sometimes, I would show up in the morning just to turn around and go home before first period even started. It wasn’t that I hated getting an education, I just hated the school system. But, at the time, I didn’t know the difference. I never saw myself getting anywhere extraordinary in life, anyways, so I didn’t see the point in taking anything seriously. I guess you could say I’m one of those late bloomers because now I have a list of goals a mile long, haha. This applies to everything, though. Don’t just settle for a guy/girl that looks cute and you kinda, sorta get along with and don’t mind having around as a spouse. Don’t settle for some dead-end job that pays the bills knowing you deserve something better. Use it as a stepping stone for something greater. Recognize your worth and the value that you bring to this world and embrace it. Never settle for less.
“Find something you love to do and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
Take heed of these wise words. It’s never too late to start.
