A couple great minds over the past year have been reinforcing the necessity of knowledge of self to me. And not the cool packaged kind for $19.95, or whatever–no, real knowledge of self. The kind that only develops after innumerable hours of researching, dialogue, and reflection. These great minds took the time to remind me that other avenues taken in the interest of liberation have not worked, and are simply not the answers. And yet, these are the same avenues we continue to push for. Why?
Most teachers and leaders offer no truly sensible solutions, no new information, and no direction. The same propaganda has been promulgated for decades but has yet to bring about that highly sought after change. Followers are encouraged to listen, buy products and lend their support, yet they fail to help cultivate the seeds of critical thinking and objective analysis that lie dormant in most of our minds–rendering our conversations fruitless and actions futile at our own expense. Which in itself should make you question whose interests they are really serving.
The change that many of us are looking for cannot be made within this current system. It is against its very nature. This system is not one that respects humanity, it dehumanizes and devalues. Our worth is measured by what we have, not who we are. The solutions will come once we all achieve the same level of understanding of what it is we’re dealing with. Change has to be initiated from within each of us. But, we all have to collectively define what change that is–undefined goals are counterproductive. Until then, we will be trapped in this vicious cycle for generations to come.
I took several months off from this site to collect myself. To be honest, I just had lost the motivation that I had when I first started this venture. After countless hours of thought and reflection, I’ve come to understand that this is my life’s mission and am now fully committed to seeing it succeed.
Lucramotives, as I think I have explained here before, is much more than an attempt at a catchy gimmick: it is a lifestyle, a movement. What exactly does this word mean? To me, it means progress; it means inspiration; it means creativity. Lucramotives is a hybridization of the words “lucrative,” “motives” and “locomotive.” Lucrative is not wholly used in a capitalistic sense, but also in a figurative sense. Whatever you can gain from spiritually, physically, or mentally–that is “lucrative”. And that is what our “motives” consist of: gaining for the betterment of ourselves in the interest of helping others do the same. It plays off of the word “locomotive” because once this idea is set into motion, it is a force that cannot be stopped. My ultimate goal with Lucramotives is to become a beacon of hope unto the world and future generations. I, as well as those whom are proponents of this movement, strive to empower and uplift the broken, hopeless, misguided, “underachievers,” downtrodden, overlooked and unheard members of society.
So in conclusion, I encourage all those who stop by this page to feel free to leave comments on our posts–and please like our Facebook and follow us on Twitter @Lucramotives to keep up with us. We have much more in store as we continue to build and grow. Right now, our primary focus will be on spreading our message and building up our name. Thank you all for your time and visiting our page.
Point blank period. Whether it’s street smarts or book smarts, some form of education is required to get anywhere. This quote is self-explanatory and the truth is self-evident so there’s no need to elaborate any further. This also ties in perfectly with my previous post.
A timeless truth. This is why it is important to continue to learn, study, and grow. The knowledge we acquire can quite possibly be used in various instances that are completely different in nature. For example, think about analogies. Many of us have heard others refer to life as being like a chess game; appropriating real life roles to the characters on a chess board and how they operate. Or comparing the similarities between a bee colony and our society. I’m sure you can think of many other examples but you get the point. The more knowledge you acquire, the more prepared you will be to handle different situations. You will develop a better understanding of life and the way things work and why they work the way they do. You can never know enough.
We allow too much to transpire without addressing them. People must be held accountable for what they do. It is our responsibility to correct the ways of wrongdoers or we are only perpetuating the same kinds of evil that we claim to be against. No matter how big or small we perceive another’s transgressions to be, they are transgressions, nonetheless. We must address them.
Immortal Technique gives listeners a brief 3rd world history lesson in this song off his 2008 album of the same name. Hate it or love it.
Personally, I’m not a religious person. However, I love reading the Bible. Namely the wisdom books such as Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Sirach, Wisdom of Solomon, etc. I’d encourage you all to read those as well as the Qu’ran and the other holy books. Rather than spoiling the youth with material things, get them in the habit of reading and gaining knowledge from a young age. I don’t mean that in the sense of just reading scriptures, but books in general.
